This stone has a grain size of 2000, which positions it between coarse (Arrato) and medium (Nakato). It sharpens blunt knives very well and can also be used to correct minor irregularities in the cutting edge caused by use. At the same time, because of its medium fineness, it causes fewer scratches on the blade and leaves a slightly matt surface.
