Lupodin - sharpening rod

The sharpening rod has a core made of 18/10 stainless steel (material no. 1.4301) and is coated with tungsten carbide. Tungsten carbide is a compound of tungsten and carbon. It approaches the hardness of diamond and is extremely durable, highly wear-resistant, and corrosion-resistant. Its properties are comparable to those of sintered carbide materials.

The surface roughness of the rod is comparable to a medium-fine cut, similar to that of vanadium honing steels, but provides a higher rate of material removal. Even with very light pressure, it achieves excellent sharpening results.

When used properly, the rod is resistant to breakage and impact. It is available with wooden handles made of cherry, ice beech, plum, walnut, and oak.
