Flat-Forged – Universal cooking and kitchen knife

This item is no longer manufactured.

This exceptional cuttinhg instrument is intended as a statement about the bladesmithing trade in general and flat-forging in particular. In its details, the discerning eye recognise a special, old forging technique combined with our traditional grinding methods -  two skills that deserve to be preserved. Total length of the blade 270 mm.

The material chosen for the blade is carbon steel with the hifh content of ca. 1,1 % carbon - not easy to forge and temper. It ir hardened to 60/61 HRC. Where the handle and the blade meet, a small step is visible. This is a typical sign of a flat-forged knife, which is why we left the oxidised surface that forms during forging untouched here - a detail that further sets this knife apart from its die-forged counterparts.
