K-Series - Edition Tsukasa

The first knife, which is to be followed by two others, is the K 2 Tsukasa. The K 2 is a compact kitchen knife that we developed in 2009. In the new Co-version, the blade is forged by our partner in Japan. Windmühle is responsible for the handle: in fine woods such as Moroccan Thuya, Walnut, Makassar Ebony and Amazonian Palisander, our craftsmen Klaus Ecker and Karl-Heinz Zickel lovingly and precisely shape the elegant grip. A compound of two metal types, the blad comprises a core of extremely hard Shiro 2 non-stainless steel, the outer mantle comprises three separate blanks of steel twisted together to create a damascene compound with a beautifully distinctive surface pattern. The layers are hand forge-welded by damascene blade expert Tsukasa Hinoura. To our knowledge, Hinoura-san is the world’s only knifemaker with a perfect mastery of this complex damascene technique. His extraordinary blades combine two differently grained damascene blanks twisted with one iron blank.
