The more coarse 400 grain is perfect to easily grind nicks or the formation of larger burrs at the blade. Even very blunt knives will regain their original slim blade geometry with this grain size, because this stone effects the appropriate material abrasion. Afterwards, use finer stones with 1,200 to 4,000 grain for grinding.
